Don Schwager is the author of Daily Scripture Readings and Meditations (www.dailyscripture.net), an online Scripture meditation for each day of the year, as well as resources for Scripture study from the early church fathers and other Christian teachers. He is the editor for Living Bulwark (www.livingbulwark.net), an online ecumenical magazine of the Sword of the Spirit that serves the renewal of Christian life and mission in the world today. He has written many articles, and is the author of two books, Training in Excellence: How godly character forms strong mature men and women and strengthens the building of communities for generations to come, and Servants of Jesus Christ: What can the New Testament teach us about the transforming power of Christ’s love and the way of servanthood.
He has been a Roman Catholic all his life, attends Holy Family Church in West London, current age 66. He studied at St. Paul Minor Seminary in Saginaw, Michigan for six years, and completed his undergraduate degree in English and Fine Arts at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1970. Since 1970 he has been a lay religious brother in the Servants of the Word, an ecumenical Christian brotherhood of men living single for the Lord. He currently resides with the Servants of the household in London, England. In addition to full-time writing and editing, he is a frequent speaker for retreats and seminars. He also teaches a course on how to study Scripture and a course on training in Christian character for Christian university outreach leaders and mission workers in Kairos, an ecumenical missionary network of students and young people in Europe and the Middle East.
